Life Education Centres for Lancashire was established in 1996 following a public meeting to which Soroptimist Clubs were invited.

Since 1996 members of Soroptimist International of Lancaster have been represented on the Management Board and the North Lancashire Support Group.

Life Education is a charity and do not receive any government funding. For many years, members of SI Lancaster have supported many fundraising events for Life Education Centres, including bag packing, can shakes, charity concert, Dinner Dance, Quiz night, treasure hunt, fashion show, canape evening and many more.

During the half-term weekend, 22-23 October 2011, a LEC mobile classroom was on display at the Barton Grange Garden Centre. Club members also helped manning the display stand, giving out leaflets and raising funds and awareness for the service in Lancashire.  Here is Tessa at the stand.

On Saturday 23 July 2011, Margaret Glover hosted a fantastic Garden Party at her home in Overton on Saturday 23 July.  It was a very enjoyable well-attended event on a most beautiful day. We had cakes and jam stalls, fashion and jewellery sales.  "Mrs G's Garden Party" raised an amazing amount of over £800 for Life Education Centres for Lancashire. Click here to read more.

On 6 May 2011, we held a coffee evening and sale of handbags, scarves and jewellery at Deirdre's home raised over £750. Hard work, but really worthwhile.  Click here to read more.

We started 2011 with a fantastic fund raising event -- coffee morning at Gaskell Hall in Silverdale raised over £670.
